Use
In Africa, the leaves are sometimes used to make fibers. The sap of some species (Sansevieria ehrenbergii) has antiseptic qualities and leaves are used for traditional dressings.
Some species (including Sansevieria trifasciata) are often used as houseplants because they are amenable to a sun or shade and oblivion watering (cons but they are sensitive to overwatering) . Given their size, they can also form a half partition in a room or office.
Fashion Culture
Appreciate a sunny location. Support an environment shade, but the leaves will be less beautiful. High temperatures in summer. No less than 10 ° C in winter. Supports aridity. Rots easily in case of excess moisture, especially by low temperature in winter.
A rarity: the sanseviera are calcareous (limestone appreciate water)
For multiplication, the best solution is the division of rhizomes. The leaf cuttings is possible with a sufficiently high temperature, but lose the variegation.
